BDMs Required for Solar Installation Company

The Net Zero Solar Group was launched in November 2020, initially as a carbon reduction consultancy, working with an approved installation partner on numerous diverse projects across England and Wales – including, to date, 350 solar energy projects.

Net Zero Solar Group have now expanded that work to include households and commercial customers across Southern England, the Midlands and Wales operating from our headquarters in Surrey. We specialise in installing bespoke Solar PV (Photovoltaic) panels backed up with Battery Storage systems, which largely liberates our customers from the National Grid with self-generated “green” electricity at a fraction of the cost of their current supplier. As part of our ambitious expansion plans, we are looking to engage with Business Development Managers who have experience in this field and who can bring the passion and motivation required for the role. Potential BDMs need excellent interpersonal skills with a professional appearance and an approachable disposition with the ability to relay technical information in layman’s terms.

As a Solar Sales Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for growing our commercial sales installations by identifying new business opportunities, sourcing your own leads with potential customers, providing them with information about our products and the benefits of going solar.

The sales process consists of gathering information to accurately identify the customer’s solar needs,
selecting solar energy products and systems to best suit their individual needs, preparing designs for the customer’s solar installation, providing customers with quotations and closing the business or following up to secure the sale.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and source own prospective leads
  • Provide customers with information about our company, the equipment and the benefits of investing in solar.
  • Gathering information to accurately identify the customer’s solar needs.
  • Selecting solar energy products and systems to best suit their individual needs.
  • Preparing designs for the customer’s solar installation.
  • Providing customers with quotations, closing the business or following up to secure sales.
  • Completing timely field reports.
  • Attending weekly briefings and quarterly sales meetings.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Business Development Manager within the renewable energy sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of solar equipment and installations is preferred but full training is provided.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent closing rate.
  • Professional appearance and a friendly disposition.
  • Ability to relay technical information in layman’s terms.
  • Own car, laptop and mobile telephone required.
  • Knowledge of Office software.

We have a 10% commission on offer and with an average contract value of £20k+ a high five figure annual income is a realistic target. With uncapped commission, Agents are in control of their own earnings.
